Executive Director, x12

Fidelma directs all of Artist Trust's day-to-day operations, administration, fundraising and program activities. Prior to this position she was Executive Director at San Francisco’s Film Arts Foundation, and 911 Media Arts Center, Seattle’s one-stop resource for independent filmmakers. Her career began at Microsoft Corporation, where she spent seven years developing successful localization strategies for the Desktop Applications Division for products sold across the world. She has a degree in Marketing and Communications from the College of Commerce in Dublin and is a graduate of Stanford Graduate Business School’s prestigious program for Executive Leadership in the Non-profit Arts.

Fidelma’s insight, energy, and ability to connect the right people keep her in demand on both sides of the fundraising table, at the local level, statewide and national scene. She holds board positions with the National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture (two years as Board Chair); Richard Hugo House; Ninth Street Independent Film Center; Washington State Arts Alliance; and Grantmakers in Film and Electronic Media. Fidelma has served as a panelist and nominator for grantmakers such as the Rockefeller Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Rasmusen Foundation and 4Culture. In 2010 she was appointed to serve on the Seattle Arts Commission. She is also a nationally sought-after speaker in the field of fundraising strategies.

PROGRAM STAFF

Miguel Guillen 
Program Manager, x11 

Miguel manages Artist Trust's grant programs, including Grants for Artist Projects, Fellowships, Twining Humber Award for Lifetime Achievement and the Arts Innovator Award. He also provides assistance to individual artists through workshops and one-on-one appointments. Miguel has completed the Arts Management Certificate Program, has an Associate of Arts Degree from Seattle Central Community College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle. He is a practicing visual artist.

Nirmala Singh-Brinkman
Program Manager, x20

Nirmala manages the administration of the EDGE Professional Development Program for Artists, the I Am An Artist Professional Development Weekend for Artists and state-wide, free workshops on grant-writing and professional-development tools for artists of all disciplines. She has a PhD in Comparative Literature and research interests in the role of literature and visual art in social and political movements and in the making of cultural identities. In her work at Artist Trust, Nirmala is committed to supporting individual artists and their enrichment of society and daily life.

DEVELOPMENT STAFF

Sheila Siden
Community Development Director, x17

Sheila manages foundation, corporate and government funding at Artist Trust, in addition to outreach and marketing initiatives. Before joining Artist Trust, Sheila raised funds and developed audiences for culture and arts: Nikkei Heritage Association of Washington’s project to build a new Japanese Cultural and Community Center; Northwest African American Museum; and Gage Academy of Fine Art. Sheila came to arts and culture after 10 years in marketing management. She earned an MBA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a BA in French from San Francisco State University. Sheila is a board member of the Northwest Development Officers Association and a visual artist.

Marsha Wolf
Donor Development Director, x18

Marsha directs major gifts and annual giving from individuals for Artist Trust. In this role, she develops special-event salons connecting supporters with artists and leads audience development for the annual Benefit Art Auction. Marsha first became affiliated with Artist Trust in January 2003 as a member of the Board of Trustees, serving on the Executive Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and chairing the Fundraising Committee. She joined the staff in July 2008. She is the former Associate Director of Development at Pratt Fine Arts Center, where she oversaw and built up foundation, government, and corporate funding, as well as wrote annual reports and related materials. Before pursuing her passion for non-profits and the arts, Marsha was faculty in the School of Public Health at the University of Washington, where she secured federally funded grants, conducted research, and taught graduate students. She creates mixed media artworks with mixed metals, paper, and found objects.      

Lele Barnett
Development Associate, x16

Lele manages membership, coordinates art for the annual Benefit Art Auction, and provides fundraising support at Artist Trust. She graduated from the University of Washington with an honors degree in Interdisciplinary Art and Art History. In 2006 she opened the Seattle art gallery, lounge and event space, McLeod Residence, which she managed for two years. She is the former Assistant Director of Vetri/William Traver Gallery; former Director of Foster/White Gallery; spent a year in New York City managing development and events for the not-for-profit arts organization, UrbanGlass; and sold historic paintings for Ray Redfern in Laguna Beach.

Martha Dale 
Finance and Operations Manager, x15

Martha joined Artist Trust in January 2008. She has broad experience in business management, organizational systems and non-profit accounting. Her most recent appointment was as the interim Finance Director of Washington Toxics Coalition. Previously she held a diverse array of jobs from restoring vintage hand-hewn log cabins, to an illustrious 10+ year career at Microsoft Corporation.

Lila Hurwitz
Communications Manager, x13

Lila manages Artist Trust's print and online materials, including Art Source; (re)Source; Artists' Assets; social networking sites; press relations; publicity; and outreach. She also manages artists’ resources and opportunities online and in the Resource Room. Lila has worked in non-profit arts administration, including fundraising and event production, since 1987. She is Administrative Director, Co-Artistic Director and founding Board member of Dance Art Group, which produces the annual Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation and other events throughout the year. She is also a professional dancer, graphic designer, and Feldenkrais® Practitioner.
