SUNNY SIDE UP!
August 22-23, 2009 

Artist Trust and Mighty Tieton teamed up for Sunny Side Up!, part of Tieton Community Days in the glorious Upper Yakima Valley. Families, artists and arts lovers from around the state converged for a weekend of creative exploration.

The weekend featured:

• Artist Trust Film Series, featuring award-winning and independently-produced films by and about Washington artists. See full descriptions and schedule here.

• Future Wave, co-presented with the Seattle International Film Festival: Featuring award-winning shorts, animated and narrative films by young filmmakers, including a selection of work by Reel Grrls.

• Dreaming of Spirit Animals–The Glass Art of Cappy Thompson, by Sally Cloninger

• Arreguin: Artist, by John Forsen

• Sweet Crude, by Sandy Cioffi
  

• OutSourced, by John Jeffcoat

• Icons Among Us: Jazz in the Present Tense, by John Comerford

• Trimpin Screening/Performance/Reception. The sonic world of Trimpin--artist, inventor, composer, engineer, creative genius. Live performance and reception with the artist followed the screening of Trimpin: The Sound of Invention, by Peter Esmonde.

• Filmmaking Brunch & Panel: Incentives and opportunities for filmmaking in Washington were explored with Washington Film Works' Amy Dee, filmmakers Sandy Cioffi and John Comerford. Co-presented with Tieton Arts & Humanities.

The weekend also featured:

• Tieton Invitational Print Exhibition curated by Fay Jones, Fulgencio Lazo and Barbara Robertson. Sponsored by Mighty Tieton and Goathead Press;
• Colorful parade with fabulous “cartists”;
• Video installation by media artist Heather Dew Oaksen;
• Open studios and Art Mart;
