About the Artist
Alice Gosti (Seattle) is a space transformer. Born and raised in Perugia, Italy and daughter of the dynamic art duo Sandford&Gosti, she trained as a professional dancer in her hometown at Associazione Culturale Dance Gallery with Rita Petrone and Valentina Romito. Alice graduated in 2008 with a BA in Dance from the University of Washington. There she developed an interest in experimental film and installation. Alice received the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Dance 2012 and the prestigious Dance Web Scholarship 2012 for ImPulsTanz in Vienna. Alice’s videos have been shown in group shows in Seattle, Perugia, Cascia, Spoleto (Italy) and Tokyo (Japan). Her choreography has been shown in Italy, Germany and in the United States. Alice is also the mind behind Yellow Fish // Epic Durational Performance Festival, the first durational performance festival. Alice loves planes.
Alice received a 2014 GAP for cathedral rental fees for a dance perfromance. TO|GET|HER is a project engaging in questions of religion, community, and where art belongs. It is an exploration of silence, simplicity and stillness. Utilizing the architectural space of a cathedral in Seattle, she aims to create an experience for the audience where nothing seems to be happening, but in fact, what’s revealed is time itself.
