About the Artist
Barbara Noonan (Seattle) loves being outdoors, walking the beaches or visiting the large expansive prairies of Eastern Washington. “It’s taken years for me to carefully study and then paint the light and shadows, but they often felt overworked.” Distillations is her latest series leaning towards the abstract. Strokes of soft pastel over a watercolor wash provide only the essential information. What her imagination generates is typically an abstracted landscape but not every time. You can see more of Barbara’s work in her Pioneer Square studio at monthly art walks as well as the Childhood’s End Gallery in Olympia, WA. Noonan is also featured in EDGE, Gage & More (2013), a visual arts exhibit in Port Townsend featuring EDGE Professional Development Program graduates.
