About the Artist
Daniel Wilkins (Edmonds) received a 2007 GAP to cover artist fees for Poor Man’s Boogie (PMB). “PMB brought to stage the stories and passion of the individuals that navigate through the hardship of poverty in the U.S. Using data collected from Social Services and other front line organizations as well as interviews from a wide variety of people such as low income families, people in government housing and the homeless, the dancers delivered a realistic representation of the desperation that poverty inflicts.” PMB was performed at the Edmonds Center for the Arts in 2007 and at Velocity in Seattle in 2008.
