About the Artist
Jean Bradbury (Seattle) is interested in our connection to the plants and animals that sustain us. Her paintings of surreal environments explore emotional responses to the natural world and have, in the past, been inspired by the garden at her house and the animals she lives with in Seattle. She would like to extend this exploration by visiting the small farms of the Snoqualmie Valley where she lived previously. Her interest revolves around organic and sustainable farming practices, free range egg production, dairy farming and cut flower production.
For Jean's most recent work she has installed murals at Ballard Pediatrics and Macrina Bakery SODO. She was also the recipient of a 2012 CityArtist Project award from Seattle’s Office of Arts & Culture.
Jean received a 2011 GAP which allowed her to spend time in the field that would otherwise have to be spent painting commissioned work.
