About the Artist
Jean Ferruzola received her MFA from the University of Washington. Her work has appeared in Brevity, The Los Angeles Review, The Offing, and ELLE Magazine among others. She was a 2014-2015 Made at Hugo House fellow.

Jean received 2016 GAP funding to support the development and completion ofWood Smoke and Forgetting: Breaking a Family Curse, a short lyrical memoir grappling with issues of family and abuse, biracial identity, and the use of traditional healing practices in a modern landscape.
