About the Artist
Jeannette Allée (Seattle) received a 2005 GAP to enable the completion and publication of her poetry manuscript Mister J. Appleseed c/o General Delivery. “These poems are informed by humankind’s drive for intellectual, artistic and sensual reckonings,” says the artist of her experimental writing. “Bigfoot is revealed to be a disheartened artist living behind a couch cushion fort and Johnny Appleseed’s sustainability moves to the orchard floor where he stops to carefully fold his pants before love-making.” Allée believes that the ability to enjoy focused time on her writing will create a “catalyst of well-being that ricochets exponentially.”
