About the Artist
A Pacific Northwest native, Judy Buskirk (Gig Harbor) was inspired early by the intricate patterns in rocks, shells and waters of Puget Sound. Early dance training led to an appreciation of classical music and art aesthetics. Judy studied art at the School of Visual Concepts (Seattle), after earning a degree in English from the University of Washington. Her current series merges music and art, as she interprets the powerful qualities in world, tribal and Celtic music. The mixed media paintings often resemble a garden or musical score. Judy is a member of Artist Trust, Peninsula Art League, and the International Society of Acrylic Painters. Her work can be seen at Bluewater Artworks Gallery (Poulsbo) and in regional exhibits.
