About the Artist
Lauren Grossman (Seattle) received a 2007 GAP to cover materials for building a temporary, enclosed shelter for the safe use of polyester resins. The resins will be used to create large lightweight forms that will balance and roll on overhead tightropes. These interactive forms can be maneuvered by the viewer, by moving counterweights placed below the tightrope. In addition, GAP funds will be used to help offset the expense of mold-making and resin supplies. The balancing resin forms will be shown in April 2008 at Oregon State University and at Howard House Gallery in Seattle.
