About the Artist
My current focus is on creating a series of life-size figurative sculptures, constructing human forms using wire and then assembling found objects inside to depict a facet of each figure’s life. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history in 1992 and studied drawing, design and sculpture at Smith College. Before beginning my art career, I worked for nearly 20 years as a writer and editor, specializing in medical topics, and for 10 years as a massage therapist, both of which influence my interest in the interconnectedness of body, mind, emotion and memory.
