About the Artist
Lori Barck Haynes (Bellevue) is a mixed media artist who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60’s, working for decades in science and law while developing her art. She creates mixed media figures from tree branches and other natural materials, adorning them with textural fabrics and embellishments. The figures often have a tribal flavor and a totemic female energy, and are distinguished by a sense of gesture and movement.
For Lori these intuitive figures are a connection to an inner voice, as well as to ancient stories of the collective unconscious. Thus, each figure is both personal and universal.
