About the Artist
Louise Hankes (Mercer Island) is a painter and sculptor. Inspired by her family’s Norwegian roots in the arts, Louise’s “Whirlism” series blends and embraces rich traditional shapes with contrasting modern form yielding playful and vibrant works. Louise had a solo exhibit at the Ryan James Gallery in 2013 and since has been working on prototypes for large installation sculpture and mural works. She received her BA in Fine Art from Sonoma State University and has post graduate studies at Gage and the Art Institute.
