About the Artist
As an architectural illustrator in 1978, I learned on the job to construct perspectives from plans and match sample colors. Science fiction magazine assignments pulled the cork on my imagination. The importance of myth and metaphor became the fire behind my surrealist work in the 1980s, followed by periods of impressionism and abstraction.
Today I paint landscapes in a style that has no easy description, except to say that it contains elements of many styles and requires viewer interpretation. Compositions are not premeditated. Oil, gouache, acrylic are my mediums of choice. I have won over 40 awards, eight of them Best of Show.
