About the Artist

Moxie Lieberman (Seattle) holds a Certificate in Fiber Art from the University of Washington. Her work has been shown across the country and featured in several books including Indie Craft by Jo Waterhouse and The Art of Tinkering by Karen Wilkinson and Mike Petrich. Moxie’s first installation, “Control,” represents a year-long marathon of sculpting to create a mechanism measuring 7.5' x 10' x 2.5’, all made from wool.

Moxie received 2015 GAP funding to help with the purchase of supplies needed to collaborate with other artists in investigating and documenting the outer limits of what wool can really do and where fiber art can live. She will be traveling to The Exploratorium in San Francisco where she will work on some of these investigations in person with the staff and visitors during a short residency. The results of these investigations and partnerships will expand Moxie’s studio practices and the concepts she will develop in the future.
