About the Artist
My art is about personal constraints: social, health, economic. I work on a subject from several viewpoints, combining imagery and text, using a variety of media. The nuanced parts build to a cohesive whole. Factors that influence my art are an inner city childhood of economic constraint and a long, deep interest in political and social justice and fairness.
In earlier times, I ran a one-person offset print shop from my basement in Seattle, supporting various social progressive organizations. Later I made and sold hand crafted silver jewelry. The choice of media in my work reflects both experiences.
