About the Artist
Paul Kuniholm Pauper (Seattle) creates wearable artwork that is exhibited in museums and other cultural venues sometimes using a guerilla action to intervene the artworks into these spaces. He uses the concepts of community and time to narrate his artistic practice, often using materials and processes appropriated from the creative techniques of his family of origin, which has been continuously present in the Seattle area since 1890. Paul Kuniholm Pauper was formally trained in fiber art at the University of Washington, where he studied with fiber arts scholars Layne Goldsmith, Michael Cepress and Julia Freeman.
