About the Artist
Phyllis Franklin (Seattle) is the author of A Price Above Rubies, a YA historic fiction novel set in Seattle. Her history-based non-fiction is published in the Seattle PI’s Big Blog and the Nordic Heritage Museum’s quarterly journal. She received a certificate in Writing for Children from the University of Washington in spring of 2008. The following year she spent researching and writing for the Museum of History & Industry’s Nearby History program celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Seattle’s Alaska-Yukon-Pacific-Exposition of 1909.
