About the Artist
Ruth Hesse is a monotype printmaker based in Seattle. She approaches monotype printmaking as a conversation with the press, working experimentally and intuitively. Ruth exploits the spontaneity and unpredictability of the medium to convey a sense of effortlessness and ease in her work. Her abstract prints depict an internal environment. They are about letting go of expectations and creating a quiet place to think, without the constraint of words or narrative.
