About the Artist
Sarah Beth Smith creates surrealist environmental portraits utilizing the processes of digital photography and montage/manipulation. Visually inspired by cinema, folklore and fairy tales, Smith’s works contain both a fictional mythos and deeply personal narrative exploring themes of dread and escapism. Smith is a 2015 Washington State Artist Trust Visual EDGE graduate and was selected as a Spaceworks Artscapes participant for the Woolworth’s Windows in Tacoma, WA in 2014. She resides near the shores of Puget Sound where the natural environments influence and integrate into her artistic process.
