About the Artist

Shin Yu Pai (Seattle) has published several poetry collections including “AUX ARCS”, “Adamantine”, “Sightings: Selected Works [2000-2005]”, “Unnecessary Roughness” and “Equivalence”. She has collaborated Hedwig Dances and the Hudson Exploited Theater Company. Shin Yu is the recipient of grants from 4Culture, City of Seattle’s Office of Arts & Culture, and The Awesome Foundation. Her work has also garnered awards from the Arkansas Arts Council, Cambridge Arts Council, and Puffin Foundation.

Shin Yu received 2015 GAP funding for “POMOLOGY”, a short collection of poems and images that is based on a public art and poetry project that she will first install and exhibit in the apple trees of Piper’s Orchard in Carkeek Park in August-September 2015. Funding will go into the preparation and submission of the manuscript as well as support materials and services towards producing a unique book that may also include an audio component, such as a CD.
