About the Artist
Susan E. Gans (Seattle) is a photographer and printmaker. Her images are narratives that relate to common experiences known but not necessarily “seen.” This work poses questions, juxtaposes views or sometimes uses illusion and text to make a point.
She taught in the D. C. Public Schools, Settlement Houses in Washington D. C. and New York City in the 1960s and early 70s and had a career in museums/community arts on the East Coast. Since living in Seattle, she worked in the public sector as a Family Law Paralegal. These experiences left an indelible mark integral to the content she explores in her work.
