About the Artist
Growing up in the in the 70s and 80s on a 66-acre old farm outside of Philadelphia allowed Tracy Boyd to develop her ability to be independent and introspective. Raised by parents that expected success, she excelled in academics, sports and art, which continued through high school and college. While working toward a BFA in design she continued to study of painting but made the decision to move into the growing technology field. Upon getting her college diploma and US Army Officer Reserve Commission she lived in many different areas of the country including Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco and finally Seattle where she has been for over 13 years.
Through the 1990s and 2000s Tracy painted and showed her work around Seattle in various galleries and cafes. In the past six years she has made a serious commitment to her art career by moving from her basement to a full sized artist loft studio just south of downtown Seattle and was selected for two solo art shows and various group art events. Her original and fearless style of painting can be attributed to her story of independence and determination and desire to learn through life experiences. Her high work ethic and self-sufficiency have continued to be a motivator that has driven her to be the best she can be and to break new ground.
