253 Collective artists and Tower Coffee Bar and Grill showcase art and highlight local businesses at group show.

Artists from the 253 Collective and Tower Coffee Bar and Grill owner Debbie Portzer, will hold an opening reception for the 253 Collective Group Show on Friday, Feb. 24 from 5-8 p.m. at Tower Coffee Bar and Grill, 1101 Tacoma Avenue in Tacoma. The group show aims to highlight and celebrate local artists and businesses, and will feature a variety of art pieces from members of the collective from February to March.

John Wise, a 253 Collective member, will perform a live painting demonstration during the reception from 6 to 7 p.m. Wise, who specializes in creating breathtaking landscape scenes in acrylic, teaches workshops locally, and was a featured artist in the Tacoma Art Museum’s winter exhibit, Franke Tobey Jones Senior Art Show.
