Event Information
Combine materials using collage techniques to “build” your acrylic painting. Exploration, encouragement and just plain time to paint will put you on the path to creating your own personal style. This is a great workshop to get ideas, experiment and try something new! There will be lots of demos. Supply list provided at registration. Supply fee payable to instructor at class.
Tracy Kay Fraker
“I love to teach. To be able to give students of any age the ability to embrace their creativity, along with the nuts and bolts of the art process. You will definitely finish with new skills and ideas, encouragement and momentum.”
In 2000, Tracy immersed herself in the exploration of new acrylic techniques in her own fine art career and was willing to share her discoveries, and use the same enthusiasm for teaching. “My goal is twofold, to open the creative process up for painters, and teach the craft of this exciting new medium - acrylics. It truly is the new frontier for painters. The support of a workshop setting multiplies what painters can accomplish. You learn from what you are doing, but also absorb the forward movement of all the other’s work.” Tracy does a lot of demos and uses group critique, and always has supplies and inspirational materials on hand to inspire students.
Tracy taught art to students from Kindergarten through 8th grade at the Maplewood Co-Op School in Edmonds Washington from 1999-2008. She also has done several public school residencies and after school programs, and even private lessons for the last 10 years. She began teaching at Cole Gallery, Edmonds and through Main Street Gallery, Chelan Wa from 2007. She has also recently taught portrait drawing for ArtsNow through Edmonds Community College.
