Event Information
Sara Everett’s newest series “Cultivation and Release” combines flora and fauna into carved and stained wood panels. Loosely based off of known proverbs, her paintings hint at human stories of laboring towards an endeavor, letting go upon completion and the choices that must be made along the way.
Sara Everett often makes use of re-purposed wood, which she manipulates with stains, carvings and texture before sealing over and applying her detailed oil paintings. Her work has been exhibited in galleries around Washington as well as internationally. Everett is an Artist Trust EDGE graduate and was a recent Fellowship recipient of a Vermont Studio Center Residency as well as an upcoming residency to Co. Donegal, Ireland.
