Event Information

Yolanda Cornelia “Nikki” Giovanni is the friend we all wish we had: eloquent, funny, a fiery wit, and a glowing writer. Poet, activist, and educator, Giovanni is the author of over 30 children’s books and poetry collections and the recipient of numerous awards including seven NAACP Image Awards and the 1973 National Book Award. She continues to inspire reflection on aging, friendship, and more with her new book “A Good Cry: What We Learn from Tears and Laugher”.

This event is part of SAL’s 2017/18 Sherman Alexie Loves series.
