Event Information

Returning to SAL after his first appearance in the 1999/00 season, Ron Chernow will discuss his forthcoming biography, “Grant”, a piece that delves into the story of president and general Ulysses S. Grant, the latest in his chronicles of some of our nation’s most influential leaders. Chernow served as historical adviser on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash-hit Broadway musical, “Hamilton”, based on Chernow’s biography of the same name about Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Widely praised for his elegant narrative and thought-provoking biographical style, Chernow presents a window into the past through which readers and listeners continue to confront the present.

This event is part of SAL’s 2017/18 Literary Arts Series.
