Artist Trust is pleased to announce that the 2014 Artist Trust Arts Innovator Award (AIA) application is now open. The AIA provides two awards for Washington State generative artists who are originating new work, experimenting with new ideas, taking risks, and pushing the boundaries in their field. The awards of $25,000 for each artist are funded by The Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation.
The application is available to individual artists from all disciplines demonstrating innovation in their art practice; who are 18 years or older; a Washington State resident; and have a minimum of five years of professional art career.
“The importance of the Artist Trust grants is enormous – both in artistic inspiration and practical value – giving me enough time to complete final drafts of books I’d been working on for years.” –David Shields, Recipient, 2013 Artist Trust Arts Innovator Award
The Arts Innovator Award is made possible through a generous gift from The Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to inspire and educate the public regarding all forms of art, and to provide support to artists and arts organizations.
“Grants had a pivotal impact on my career in the early years. It is a privilege to be able to provide these grants, and through them, Leslie and I hope to make a significant impact on the careers of innovative artists in Washington State.” –Dale Chihuly
