Overview

More than 30 years ago, the citizens and leaders of Kent recognized that the arts are a significant part of the quality of life, growth and vitality of a community. The City’s public art collection includes more than 300 pieces, including portable works, outdoor sculpture and integrated projects. An annual juried show of regional art includes purchase awards and exhibit awards at the Centennial Center Gallery. The Kent Arts Commission also presents approximately 50 performances each year, geared for all ages, including both international and regional acts. Festivals and events round-out the city’s cultural offerings, with Kent Kids’ Arts Day and summertime festivities among the highlights.
