Overview

Submissions are open for the 2012 edition of the History Is____ Film Competition. Filmmakers of all ages and experience levels are invited to participate.

Last year, MOHAI wrapped-up its first History Is _____ film competition with overwhelming success. We invited you to tell us what history means to you in a short film of 5 minutes or less, and you responded with over 40 submissions - many of which have subsequently gained recognition in regional and national film competitions! Let’s see if this year we can beat that number and explore the many meanings of history.

Competition Guidelines:
- The title of your film must respond to the prompt: “History Is_____” by filling in the blank with one word or short phrase. Choose the word or phrase that best describes history for you; “fun”, “dangerous”, “here”, “my family”, and “all around me” are all great answers.
- Your film must include MOHAI’s indroductory graphic, provided here (480p) and here (720p). (Right Click and save the file)
- Running time of your History Is____ film, inlcuding credits and the introductory graphic, must be a minimum of 60 seconds and may not exceed 5 minutes.

How to Enter Your Film:
MOHAI will accept submissions beginning from January 2nd, 2012. Films will be accepted online only, and details on how to upload your film to our site will be available in December 2011.
All films must be successfully up-loaded to MOHAI’s History Is____ website by 5:00pm on Saturday, March 31st to be eligible for awards.
