Metro Parks Tacoma is seeking a design team artist for the Dickman Mill Project, which includes reinstallation of the historic Dickman Mill Head Saw and redesign of the surrounding area. The project is located along Tacoma’s Ruston Way Waterfront, which features more than 2 miles of parks and is one of the most popular attractions in the region. In addition to beautiful natural surroundings, the site has a rich context culturally, ecologically, and historically. The selected artist will create an Art Brief (mini art plan) that will contribute to the design of the site and create integrated and/or discreet elements that add to the site. Besides leveraging the existing construction budget, up to $40,000 may be available to implement recommendations.
