Olson Kundig seeks a marketing/communications coordinator to support the firm’s strategic marketing and communications efforts. Based in Seattle, Olson Kundig is an international design practice whose work integrates architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and exhibit design.

The marketing/communications coordinator will work in close collaboration with the firm’s communications manager, marketing director and an external PR firm to generate, track and report new media opportunities and to document the firm’s people, practice and culture through written, visual and experiential media.

The ideal candidate for this new role is a proactive self-starter who possesses a keen sense of initiative, strong writing skills, a global design perspective, and experience with communications coordination. Key responsibilities include:
-Track all incoming media inquiries
-Maintain media placement calendar and media grid
-Coordinate logistics, tracking, and reporting of opportunities and coverage in collaboration with external PR firm
-Assist in preparing graphic and written materials to respond to media requests
-Track, record, and report incoming media coverage
-Coordinate logistics for photography and videography documentation (site and vendor research, shot lists, call sheets, models, travel logistics and scheduling)
-Write and edit new communications copy, including interview content, project descriptions, biographies, case studies, copy for books and other marketing materials
-Maintain digital library of communications content
-Update content in online media outlets
-Generate written content for social media and website
-Track, record, and report social media activity
-Planning and logistics support for special events, lectures, editor visits, project site tours, book launches and public presentations

Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or a related field plus 2 to 4 years of directly applicable work experience in a similar role. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and social media/web platforms (Wordpress, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn.) Experience in the architecture/engineering or construction a plus.
