Overview
Peninsula College’s PUB Gallery of Art is now accepting group or solo exhibition proposals for temporary exhibitions that last approximately one month. Exhibition proposals should be received by April 13, 2012. Submissions received after this date will be held onto and considered for the following years exhibition schedule. Artists selected for an exhibition by the PUB Gallery of Art can expect to be contacted within thirty days of the date listed above. A limited amount of funding may be available to artists willing to give an artist lecture that would be open to the public. Artists not selected for an exhibition may expect to be notified within sixty days of the date listed above.
The PUB Gallery of Art has approximately 110’ of running wall space, which consists of a 12’ high and 69’ long white wall, three white hanging panels that are 66 x 66” each, and a one foot elevated glass enclosed display area that is 3’ deep with a 23’ long gray wall and wood flooring. The walls are made of drywall backed with wood and the hanging panels are made of wood. Lighting consists of track lighting and indirect north light above and to the sides of the hanging panels. Various pedestal sizes are available for displaying 3-D work in the enclosed display area only.
The PUB Gallery of Art is located in the heart of Peninsula College’s campus, which is a part of the Boulevard Arts District in Port Angeles, WA. It is one block from the Olympic Peninsula’s prominent art museum and sculpture park, which is the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center and Webster’s Woods Art Park, and is adjacent to the Port Angeles Community Playhouse. The gallery is highly trafficked and frequently viewed. It is open from 7:00am to 8:00pm, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
EACH SUBMISSION PACKET SHOULD INCLUDE:
1. A completed proposal form. Found online at: www.pencol.edu/PUBGallery/default.asp
2. An artist statement, resume, and artist biography. For group shows, a brief statement/resume/bio should be included for each artist in the proposed exhibition. (Attach as a Word Document or pdf file if submitting an email proposal.)
3. Up to 10 digital images of recent work. Images should be submitted in jpeg format on a CD or DVD for physical submissions packets or as jpeg attachments for emailed proposals. Keep jpeg image sizes less than 1 MB each. Please do not submit slides or photo prints in lieu of digital images. Images do not have to be of works that will definitely be included in the final show, but must be representative of the works to be displayed.
4. A list of captions for each image submitted that includes dimensions (with units), title, medium, and price of each work. You must include dimensions (with units) for each work so that we have an understanding of the size scale and can consider works for appropriate exhibition spaces. (Attach as a Word Document or pdf file only if submitting an email proposal.)
5. A SASE (self addressed stamped envelope), if you are submitting a physical proposal packet. If a SASE is not included, submission materials will not be returned and will be disposed/recycled after the submissions process.
