Seeking ART WORK/ CLASSES for NVS Fundraiser Auction GALA in May, 2012
Last year artists were kind enough to donate artwork to our fundraiser auction! We were so grateful and the pieces were such a hit and added so much atmosphere to our Gala Event, that we are starting early to share our event again with artists in the hope that we may be able to double our artwork this year. If you provide classes, this too would be a wonderful Item. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CONSDIRING DONATING A PIECE OF ART OR A CLASS.
Our upcoming non-profit (NVS nvsrehab.org) annual GALA May 19th, 2012. ****Thank you for reading and considering donations to the NVS GALA. NVS is our non profit organization, whose missions is: Helping people with neurological conditions gain independence, one person, one job, at a time.
Neurological Vocational Services Unit (NVSU) at Harborview is the only full-service program providing a range of vocational rehabilitative services (Comprehensive Rehabilitative Vocational Evaluations, Community Based (Job) Assessments, Job Placement, Social Skills Group, Counseling and other services) to individuals with neurological disabilities in the Northwest who are seeking to gain permanent part time or full time employment. Each year these services are provided to more than 300 individuals with multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other neurological disabilities. One hundred percent of donations for the Fundraiser GALA go to benefiting NVSU clients. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit Board, NVS, disperses these funds throughout the year, paying for job development and coaching staff, insurance for client job tryouts, parking, funds for licenses, job accommodation equipment, driving lessons, classes, certifications, etc… These funds provide additional assistance to clients to overcome barriers, for which which there is no other funding.
Our annual Spring Gala Auction is scheduled this year in May, and is our ONLY MAJOR FUNDRAISING EVENT each year. The Auction this year is being held at Salty’s Restaurant on Alki overlooking Seattle and is featuring the famous Salty’s brunch with live music by a local opera group. It will be attended by a diverse group of diverse business people, allied health personnel, university faculty and friends.
It is a great opportunity to benefit our clients with neurological disabilities and at the same time provide some low cost publicity for your artists and organization. All donors will receive acknowledgement as well in our NVS Newsletter which goes out to 500 professionals in the King County area.
