Overview
We are trying something new this year by adding author tables to our Festival. This is your opportunity to present and sell your work to a wide audience from the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park and surrounding areas, at a minimal fee to you, $10 for 2 hours.
Because the point of this opportunity is not just to sell books but also to give the public a chance to interact with authors, and because we have worked to keep the fee very reasonable, all authors must accompany their own books, one author per table. No one may sell someone else’s work. Each author must be present to sell his/her work and only his/her work for the fully scheduled time. We charge no commission for your sales at this event.
Authors will be provided with one 6’ table and one chair, indoors, for two hours. Authors may put up whatever display they like, so long as consideration is taken that this is a family event with many children present. If any display items are put up that SLFPAC staff or representatives find objectionable or potentially offensive, authors will be asked to remove that part of the display. We will be asking authors to clear out quickly at the end of their scheduled time, to ensure that the next author gets his/her full time. Please take that into consideration when planning your booth set-up and avoid items that might take considerable time to set up or take down. You are responsible for providing your own means of accepting sales, whether cash, check, or credit card. You are also responsible for collecting all applicable taxes.
This opportunity is for published authors, whether traditional or independent. This is a juried process to ensure an interesting mix of genres and works. Authors will be considered for acceptance as applications come in, and time slots will be filled as we receive applications. It is to your benefit to apply early.
