Overview

Seeking a better way to work and looking to build a community of fellow writers, Elisabeth Eaves and Joe Ray opened Type Set in March 2017. Located in the heart of Seattle’s vibrant Columbia City neighborhood, Type Set provides an affordable, comfortable, quiet work environment to writers of all genres. The 650-square foot room has 10 workstations (including two standing desks), two easy chairs, a small reference library, a chalkboard, lockers, and a microwave. Coffee, tea, and Wi-Fi are provided. Type Set is across a courtyard from Empire Espresso—one of the best coffee shops in Seattle—and a short walk from PCC, more than a dozen restaurants, and a public library. The 7 and 9 bus lines stop a half-block away, and the Columbia City light rail station is a seven-minute walk.
