Overview

Youth in Focus’ mission is to empower urban youth, through photography, to experience their world in new ways and to make positive choices for their lives. Adult, volunteer mentors assist our Teaching Artists directly in the classroom. The Fall Quarter runs 9/22 - 11/15, but we accept applications year round.

NEEDED: Photography Mentors (black & white darkroom and digital)

DATES & TIMES: Mondays/Wednesdays OR Tuesdays/Thursdays, 4:30pm - 7:00pm

Mentors in the Digital Photography: need to be comfortable using Adobe Lightroom 3, and using the manual settings of Canon point-n-shoot digital cameras.

Mentors in the Black & White Photography: need to be comfortable using 35mm film cameras, processing film by hand, and printing photos in a darkroom.

Experience working with at-risk youth is strongly desired.
