Overview

A new Wilkes Elementary School is under construction on the northern end of Bainbridge Island on land adjacent to the existing school, which was originally built in the mid-1950s. The new school building is scheduled to open in August 2012.

The new building will have multiple locations suitable for large and small art pieces, and the Parent Teacher Organization has funds to provide a start in acquiring a quality art collection to enhance our educational setting.

Wilkes is now accepting project proposals for artwork to touch the hearts and minds of children and inspire them to think, imagine, and reflect on the environment and community that surrounds them.

Deadline for proposals: 4 p.m. March 16, 2012
Notification by: April 20, 2012
