Artist Trust Board welcomes new President and new Board Members

The Artist Trust board is comprised of dedicated artists, arts professionals, and community members who volunteer to serve on the board for a three-year term.  Artist Trust is pleased to welcome three new board members and a new president. Heather Joy Helbach-Olds, Mariella Luz, and Sarah Traver have stepped in to serve on our board, while Stephanie Ellis-Smith transferred the Presidency role to Pablo Schugurensky. 

Pablo Schugurensky

Pablo Schugurensky, the new Board President, is a Seattle resident and founder of Meta Arte Art Consultancy Company. Currently, he is also a member of the Collections Committee at the Henry Art Gallery. Previously, he has served as the Director of Art Collections for Vulcan, Inc.; the Director of the Microsoft Art Collection; a leader of Washington State’s Art in Public Places Program; and as a program officer of the New York State Council on the Arts. 

Heather Joy Helbach-Olds

Heather Joy Helbach-Olds, of Tacoma, is a Coordinator at Spaceworks, an initiative of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, and is currently on the board Tacoma Metro Parks.  Heather has also served as a former Director of Programs at Artist Trust, and as a Board Member of Blue Earth Alliance.

Mariella Luz

Olympia’s Mariella Luz is currently a General Manager at K Records, serves as a Washington State Arts Commissioner, and is a Board Member of Olympia Artspace Alliance. Previously, she was the Founder and Executive Director at Olympia All Ages Project.

Sarah Traver

Sarah Traver, of Seattle, is currently the Director of Traver Gallery and Vetri in Seattle. She is also a teaching assistant for ArtsCorps, and serves as a Board Member at Pratt Fine Arts Center. Sarah is a guest speaker, juror, and advisor at the Pratt Fine Arts Center, the Museum of Northwest Art, the Hilltop Artists in Residence program, the Museum of Glass, the Tacoma Art Museum, the Pilchuck Glass School, to name a few. 

Artist Trust thanks Stephanie Ellis Smith for her amazing leadership in her three-year run as Board President. We wish her the best in all her future endeavors. We look forward to working with our new President and all Board Members as we finalize our Strategic Plan, planned for release in August.
