For my Meet the Artist event, I offered a carving demonstration at the Burke Museum at the University of Washington in Seattle. I displayed several completed carvings, carving pieces in process, and demonstrated carving on a bentwood box and moon mask. I also displayed photo albums of my work.
Over 100 people came to by look at and talk about the work, including a large group of visitors from Richland, WA, that had never been to the museum or to Seattle before.
Thanks to the Burke Museum for partnering on this event!

Artist Trust’s Meet the Artist program is an integral component of the annual Artist Trust Fellowships. Every Fellowship recipient presents an event outside of their geographic area of residence or to a community that would not ordinarily have access to their work. Meet the Artist bridges our artistic community with the diverse communities in Washington State, increasing awareness about the vital roles the arts and artists play in our culture.
