Bad Fruit Foundation

The specific purpose of the Bad Fruit Foundation is to provide advocacy, support, information, and financial assistance to underrepresented and underinsured members of the art community of King County experiencing life-altering illness or injury in the hope that they will not have to sacrifice their art for their wellness.

1. Advocacy includes: Offering a compassionate community of supportive individuals and offering a unified voice in the defense of more accessible healthcare.

2. Support includes: Enforcing the concept that all people have an individual right to secure the best possible care for their condition.

3. Information includes: Disseminating data and resources for local treatment facilities and options.

4. Financial Assistance includes: Cash grants, in kind donations, referrals to appropriate outside agencies, and support of individual fund raising efforts.

5. Underrepresented indicates: Individuals who do not qualify for financial support for their condition.

6. Underinsured: No or limited medical insurance and not fully qualifying for federal, state, local, or private aid.

7. The Art Community of King County includes individuals schooled in or pursuing artistic endeavors, including, but not limited to: Singers, musicians, designers, filmmakers, dancers, fine artists, performers, writers, poets, visual artists, directors, and producers. In addition, this could include music instructors, employees of art institutions, concert halls, and museums, etc.

8. A Life Altering Condition/Injury includes: A condition or a medical diagnosis serious enough to require medical attention, hospitalization, or ongoing treatment to the extent that it compromises earning potential or artistic capacity.
