Program Coordinator, Springboard
A Capacity Building Program for Arts/Cultural Organizations

Contract position: $20-25 per hour DOE for approximately 30 hours a month for an average of $600 per month.  It is expected that the contract would begin in October and would run for 12 months with the likelihood of renewal after a two month hiatus.

Executive Service Corps seeks results-oriented, personable, and knowledgeable program coordinator for Springboard to Building Capacity in Arts and Cultural Organizations. Springboard is designed to assist small and mid-sized groups in building both capacity and sustainability. The program matches representatives from the organization with a consultant or consultant team from Executive Service Corps.  Arts organizations work with the ESC consultants to conduct an organizational assessment, determine key issues they want to address, develop a plan for addressing those issues and measuring progress. A seminar with arts management experts will also be provided. Organizations will participate as a part of a peer learning cohort beginning in January 2009.
 
Expected competencies
Knowledge of local community arts/cultural organizations and resources.
Knowledge of the basic principles, trends, and current research related to arts management.
Able to plan and carry out the program with energy and a collaborative spirit
Understanding of grants processes.
Self-motivated and flexible.
Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others - committed to quality service and communication with ESC consultants, clients and partners.

Education, experience and special requirements

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field and 2-4 years of experience in arts or arts education program coordination. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
Volunteer management experience.
Strong computer skills (email, Word, Powerpoint)including 
Office and database software
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, required.
Experience in arts management preferred.

Hours
Work schedule is flexible and workload will vary somewhat during the program year.  On average 30 hours a month will be expected and the contract will be average  $600/month.  Use of a home office is optional.  ESC’s office is in lower Queen Anne at 510 2nd Ave West, Seattle, WA, 98119
