The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Seattle Public Utilities (SPU), seeks eight emerging artists to create commissioned portable artworks. Selected artist will work independently to create artwork(s) for SPU's Portable Works Collection. This project is an introduction to the public commission and contracting process for emerging artists. There is no age requirement. Artists may or may not have gallery affiliation. Students are not eligible. Ten finalists will each receive $750 for proposals. Eight selected artists will each receive $3,000 for creation of their artwork.
