News flash! Are you a musician or songwriter? Do you have health insurance? Our good friends at the Future of Music Coalition are conducting an online survey through April 1, 2010 to assess how many musicians have health insurance. Your answers are anonymous and confidential, and the survey takes about 10 minutes. The last time FMC did a similar study it generated significant findings that have since had an impact on policy and funding for the arts. Let’s help them continue this important work.

Artist Trust is committed to supporting artists on all issues important to their careers, including their health. The issue of medical expense and health insurance is a formidable one. Currently there is no singular resolution to this complex issue. Artist Trust is addressing the issue of health care for artists through the distribution of information and through the development of an ambitious new program called the Washington Artists Health Insurance Project (WAHIP).
