Priscilla Dobler Dzul

Priscilla Dobler Dzul is a Tacoma, WA-based artist from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. She is an interdisciplinary storyteller, focused on reframing the context of America’s colonization of indigenous cultures while examining the structures of power in our domestic lives through multiple craft mediums.

Her work has been exhibited domestically and internationally most recently she has shown at Material, Mexico City, Mexico; Nome Gallery, Berlin, Germany; Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Houston, TX; Project for Empty Space, Newark, NJ; A.I.R Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Consulate of Mexico, Seattle, WA; The Northwest African American Museum, Seattle, WA; NARS Foundation, Brooklyn, NY; 125 Maiden Lane, NYC, NY and Olympic Sculpture Park, Seattle, WA.

She received her MFA in Sculpture from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She is a recipient of grants from Artist Trust, Neddy Behnke Foundation, Tacoma Artist Initiative, Puffin Foundation and has been awarded a T. Bailey Award, Edwin T. Pratt Scholarship, and Robert B. McMillen Fellowship.
