Celebrate the Seattle debut of America Forward: Black, Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+, an exhibition curated by Roger Nyhus, former U.S. Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, featuring work by eleven Washington State artists selected for the U.S. Department of State’s 2024 Art in Embassies program. Originally shown at the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence in Barbados, this exhibition brings powerful, diverse perspectives home to Washington.
Join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday, May 15 from 5 – 7 pm at Artist Trust, featuring remarks by Roger Nyhus and artist Anthony White. As federally funded cultural programs face increasing uncertainty, we invite you to celebrate this landmark moment for Washington State artists and the power of cultural diplomacy.
