About the Artist
I’m a representational landscape painter based in Seattle. I work in oil on panel using thin, transparent layers to achieve a luminous, atmospheric quality. As an antidote to the complexity and hectic pace of modern life, I choose images that convey an air of simplicity, space and stillness. My aim is to recreate the feelings of calm, humility, and intimacy that can be experienced in a moment of connection with our landscape.
I received my training at the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle and the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney, Australia. Before my life as an artist I was a staff and freelance writer and editor for Time, Inc. publications and other web-based media. I am represented by the Fountainhead Gallery in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle.
