About the Artist
Christopher Gay has been living in Seattle since 1999. He has been working as a tattoo artist since 1995 and is the owner of ArtCore Studios, a tattoo shop and gallery featuring emerging local artists. Christopher graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in 1994 with a BFA in Illustration and Painting. He grew up just outside of Charleston, South Carolina.
Christopher’s inspiration is primarily drawn from observation and interaction with other people. His paintings draw attention to the juncture between the figure and background. By painting in sessions that start creatively and end destructively, he loosens the representational quality of the work.
