About the Artist
Elizabeth Mars (Seattle) is a self-taught sculptor working in mixed media. Since receiving a degree in economics from James Madison University in 1986, she has worked in art administration, film, and metal fabrication. She is currently employed as a miniature sculptor for a Seattle gaming company and is exploring the incorporation of moving imagery as a sculptural element in her fine artwork. Her sculpture and films depict human, animal, and anthropomorphic figures, or parts thereof, using animal expressiveness to explore the human condition. She has exhibited at the Emerson Gallery of Virginia in 2001 and at the University of Maryland in 2003.
